Return to the floor

After being away for a little more than one month from Tango due to my Dip FM project and exam, finally got a chance to dance again this Tuesday, at Xenbar.

It was good to see many new faces at the Tuesday milonguita. And, judging from the looks of concentration, they seemed keen too. Perhaps there is yet hope!? Uruguayan influence

Esteban and Evelyn are back in town for a bit more than a week. It has been close to a year since they last visited Singapore.

They are a young and very energetic couple from Uruguay: dynamic and fun to learn from. This time, the topics “navigation”, “music appreciation” and “creating new steps” are particularly interesting. Also, something Esteban said tonight struck me as a sign of true humility. He mentioned that as students of Tango, we should learn the good things from each visiting teacher and discard elements which are not to our tastes, and retain and develop yourself as a Tango dancer. And of course, to put the fun back into dancing. What inspirational words indeed!
